We’ll meet with top officials from the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) to talk about the year in transit and what lies ahead for 2010. We’ll talk about the announcement of a new CEO, who will join the organization in the new year. We’ll also talk about how the economy has affected parts of the organization’s services and look ahead to projects that are underway that will begin construction in 2010. And we’ll talk about the recent news that Charlotte has seen the largest increase nationwide in transit use over the last two years.
John Muth
– Interim CEO and Deputy Director for Development at CATS
Dee Pereira – Administration Manager at CATS

  1. I live in Indian Land (across the border below Ballentyne) and work in the University area (a 40 mile drive one way). I have lived in the Charlotte area for 10 years and have riden the train update many times, but had never riden the bus. Last Wed I drove from my home to the I485 train station. I took the train uptown and transfered to the N. Tryon bus at the transporation center. It was a wonderful expirence. I do not plan on making this trip everyday, as I have a young daughter and it does take about 1/2 hour longer this way. But I will probably start doing it once a week.
