Wednesday September 9, 2009 | Mecklenburg Stimulus Money

Today we wrap up a series of examinations of stimulus funding in our region. Earlier this summer we talked with the state and local level stimulus funding offices to follow the money from the federal government down to our city and county. Mayor Pat McCrory took some exception to the timing and allocation of federal stimulus money in our region and he aired those views on our program. Now County Commission Chair Jennifer Roberts joins the show to offer her perspective on money from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. She says the money will have a positive and lasting impact on our region.

  1. You can list all the ‘stimulus’ money received or coming, and all these projects supposedly going on, But None Of It Is Creating Jobs, especially anything to do with infrastructure as to construction!!

Don’t believe me, then just check the ESC statewide, any State Paper, or these so called Job Boards, and not just for today or a week ago, but since the receiving of any stimulus!!

  2. Add to above, also check on Contractor Bid calls or calls to Sub Contractors for bids by a Contractor and the jobs being placed for bid!

  3. He can Disagree All he wants, but just do what I listed, I Do, as well as other states where it actually is creating jobs, jobs for those that spend the money earned creating other jobs and saving small businesses!!
There may be jobs being saved, but those numbers are low with no New Calls for trades men and women!!

  4. Once pile submit. find that kind of information reading all of the groundwork for a client, and at all times looking for.
