Remembering John Hope Franklin

Historian and pioneer of African American studies, John Hope Franklin died Wednesday at the age of 94. His book From Slavery to Freedom, first published in 1947, continues to be one of the most important of its kind- considered a landmark integration of black history into American history. Charlotte Talks spoke with Dr. Franklin in 2007 about his life and legacy.
