It’s a split show today about two institutions of alternative education. In the first part we’ll talk to artists, historians and professors about Black Mountain College. From 1933-1957 this liberal arts college operated around the idea that the arts are essential to the learning experience.

In the second half we’ll talk about a new initiative in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools called Parent University. Aimed at helping parents become partners in their children’s education, they offer courses in growth and development, health and wellness, and more.
