Thursday September 11 | Weather, Hurricanes, and Green Living

September 9, 2008 at 10:41 am | Posted in Coming Up | Leave a comment

It’s a two-part discussion on this edition of Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins. First, we’ll meet a UNC Charlotte meteorologist who is doing research to try and improve the forecast of severe weather. In a period where several hurricanes or tropical storms are expected to make landfall on US coasts, his research and the research of his students could prove very useful in future storm prediction.
In the Second half of the show, another meteorologist joins the conversation- Terri Bennett will be our guest. She’s got a new website where she still does the weather, but is also focusing much of her time on Green Living. We’ll talk about how weather, living green and the web all go together.
Guests
Matthew Easton – PhD in Atmospheric Science, UNC Charlotte
Terri Bennett – Weather forecaster
