Showstopper Plants / STOMP!

February 26, 2008 at 4:05 pm | Posted in On Air | 3 Comments

FlowerNo, we’re not stomping on beautiful plants, it’s a two part show on February 27.  First, we’ll meet a master gardener from Polk County who will introduce us to this year’s Showstopper Plants, all are being featured at the Southern Spring Home and Garden Show.    Then we’ll be joined by part of the cast of STOMP! They’re in town this week for perfomances at the Blumenthal.  We’ll talk about why banging pots, pans and garbage cans makes “music” and we’ll have a live performance by the group in our Spirit Square studio!

  1. Since we do not know when we will be allowed to water, it does not seem to make any sense to me to plant things this spring.
I lost even established drought tolerant plants last summer. It is depressing. And expensive.

  2. Is Mike thinking about red tips not red buds? My red buds are very healthy. I particularly like the red leafed one.
My Endless Summer hydrangea held up very well last summer even though it was frozen back in the spring.
My chindo viburnums have problems with black spot or some kind of fungus.

  3. We have been installing many rain barrels over the last few months for this issue. These barrels are great as they do more for us and the environmental impact they have is great. If you dont have 1 or 2 get a couple you will not be disappointed.

    good luck
