May 20, 2009 at 9:37 am | In Coming Up | Leave a Comment

More than 6,700 high school seniors will receive their diplomas from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools this Spring. But will they be adequately prepared for higher education or the job market? Do students who enter college actually graduate? These are some of the questions asked in the study “To a Culture of No Excuses,” recently released by the Public Education Research Institute at Queens University. We’ll discuss the results of the study, how CMS students stack up against their counterparts around the state, and look at the challenges public schools face with student performance and graduation around the country.
