Part One: Charlotte Roller Girls
Flat track roller derby is a sport that’s gaining quite a bit of momentum in cities around the country. Last year, Charlotte was introduced to the sport in the form of The Charlotte Roller Girls. The team now has one of the largest fan followings of roller derby teams in the nation and is made up of a very diverse group of women. They’re all ages, and are mothers and wives, lawyers, teachers and businesswomen. We’ll hear their story.

Part Two: The Color Purple
“The Color Purple” has arrived in the Queen City. The Broadway production was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and now many of the original players are onstage again in the production’s first North American tour. We’ll talk about the musical’s message of hope and love and about the response of the audiences around the country.
